With three key principles and numerous practical tips, Discardia—a new holiday—helps you solve specific issues, carve away the nonsense of physical objects, habits, or emotional baggage, and uncover what brings you joy.
In this book, I draw on many years of experience to provide a flexible, iterative method for cutting out distractions and focusing on more fulfilling activities.

More drink. Less Drunk.
You deserve a great cocktail—and you don’t have to over-indulge to get it! Shims—serious, low-alcohol cocktails—are where everyone can come together, whether it’s for the one drink of the evening or when this is but the first of many.
This book is your invitation to a world of delicious, sophisticated drinks which provide all their pleasures without walloping you over the head with booze. Celebrate two centuries of the cocktail with recipes for every taste, from the sunny cheerfulness of a Ben’s Good Humor to slow sippers like the Bitter Giuseppe. Cheers!
Research Interests
Games
Play—whether physical games, tabletop role-playing, or computer games—excites me with its potential to bring out the best in us and relieve stress. Along with being a gamer in a variety of formats, I've begun learning game design so I can bring my own creations into the world.
Self-care
In keeping with its philosophical principles, I've begun re-engaging with Discardia at a relaxed pace. I'm interested in integrating what I've learned since the first edition of the book came out, particularly regarding health and wellness management. Expect increased Discardian activity as we approach the 10th anniversary of the book and the 20th anniversary of Disardia in general.
History
As my health and other projects permit, I am continuing my research on the place of domestic servants in Elizabethan society.
Science
The mad wonders of the real world continue to inspire my fiction writing.
